ARDROSSAN will take centre stage once again with the 2017 Santa Parade and Christmas Lights switch-on.

Taking place on Saturday, November 25, the event promises to be the biggest and best yet with something for everyone including choirs, dancers, fairies, Santa and even a piper.

And leading up to the day itself there will be an #ElfieSelfie and Best Dressed Shop Window competition for locals to get involved with.

The Elves will be popping up in local shops very soon and to take part in the competition, all you have to do is take a selfie with one of the elves and share it to the Ardrossan Christmas Decorations Committee’s Facebook page with the hashtag #ElfieSelfie.

Shops in Ardrossan are also welcome to take part in the shop window contest and the Committee will be taking pictures of them and posting them online with the public voting for their favourite.

The parade on the Saturday leaves just after 4pm from Hill Street and will travel along Princes Street and round into Glasgow Street.

It will be led by local piper Michael McCulloch and will include Busy Bees Nursery Does Christmas with Santa and his Elves, the 1st Ardrossan Brownies, Ardrossan Youth Centre and the Magic Winter Fairies, Ardrossan Whitlees Community association and gala party and the Winter Sun and Snow Walkers, the Ardrossan Winton Flute Band playing Christmas Tunes, Julie Carson’s Angel Dancers, William Wallace and the Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society, Ardrossan Coastguard and Police horses.

There will be entertainment in Civic Centre from the Ardrossan Academy Choir, Ardrossan Park Church Choir, 3TFM and Julie Carson’s dancers and there will be Christmas film shown outside from Church of Nazarene.

There is absolutely no charge for the big event but donations in buckets will be appreciated on the night or you can donate via the Committee’s JustGiving Page here.
