A man has been remanded in custody after admitting to stealing electrical items and money from an Ardrossan home and to possessing heroin.

John Alcroft, 30, pled guilty to two charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.

His plea of not guilty to a third charge was accepted by the prosecutor.

On November 7 at a house in Alcroft’s home street, McDowall Place, the 30-yearold stole a laptop, PS3, two mobile phones, a camera controller, two watches, a bank card, and a tin containing cash.

On the same date, Alcroft was found in possession of heroin at Ardrossan’s Glasgow Street.

The case was adjourned for reports until November 30.

Alcroft was remanded in custody, bail having been refused.
