A Saltcoats student has been recognised for his work in the local community at the 2017 Scottish Qualifications Authority Star Awards.
James O’Neill picked up the College Candidate of the Year Award at the ceremony, which was hosted by TV and radio presenter Kaye Adams in Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms.
James is a former Sport and Fitness student at Ayrshire College and is now studying for a degree in International Sports Management at Glasgow Caledonian University.
The 22-year-old was shortlisted, and won, for his coaching efforts in the community. His win keeps alive the incredible streak of Ayrshire College wins in the College Candidate of the Year category.
The college has now provided the past four winners of the coveted award, and all four have been Sport and Fitness students.
Elsewhere at the SQA Star Awards, Ayrshire College won a Highly Commended Award in the Innovation category for its Me2u project.
