A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with assault to severe injury and danger of life after an alleged attack in Saltcoats on Tuesday night.
The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Wednesday following an attack on 66-year-old Henry Lee in Green Street, Saltcoats.
Police have confirmed that Mr Lee has since died from his injuries.
It is believed that the boy appeared in court before Mr Lee's death was confirmed.
The teenager was committed for further examination and released on bail.
