TWO food giants will open new premises in Stevenston in 2018, the Herald can exclusively reveal.

Late last year we reported that Greggs and Domino’s had both submitted planning applications to North Ayrshire Council for possible sites in the Ashenyards Retail Park, currently home to KFC, The Red Squirrel and Costa Coffee.

Now both have confirmed that they will be coming to the Three Towns.

And at the pizza giant will be creating 30 new jobs for the local area with Greggs to make a further announcement about staff in the near future.

Commenting on the opening of the Stevenston store next year, Heidi Bartholomew, a spokesperson for Domino’s, said: “We are very much looking forward to bringing freshly handmade pizza to homes in Stevenston when our new store in Ashenyards Park opens next year. The new store will create 30 jobs for local people and our full team of trainee managers, pizza makers, customer service representatives and delivery experts will be on-board and ready to serve delicious, piping hot pizza to residents when our doors open.”

A spokeswoman for Greggs said: “We can now confirm we’ll be opening a new shop at Ashenyards Retail Park in 2018. Jobs will be advertised online early next year. Those interested can visit”
