TWO local bakeries are on the shortlist to find the World Scotch Pie Champions for 2017.
The Kandy Bar from Saltcoats and Kilwinning’s Beth Brownings Bakery have once again been nominated, after a special tasting by 50 professional judges.
The Kandy Bar have won the world title twice in recent years, as well as winning the baker of the year award.
"Over 80 butchers and bakers entered some 450 of their best products into 11 categories this year and the competition has been fierce so Beth Brownings Bakery and The Kandy Bar can be proud to have come this far,” said head judge Ian Nelson on behalf of Scottish Bakers which manages the competition.
Judging took place on Wednesday, November 15 and the winner will be announced at a prestigious luncheon on January 9, 2018 at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld.
