CHILDREN at James McFarlane School welcomed some unusual visitors recently – a pair of donkeys.
Alfie and Donkey belong to Michelle Duncan, whose nephew, Carter Duncan, is a pupil at James MacFarlane. Michelle, from Stevenston, kindly brought along her two donkeys to the Ardrossan school as a festive treat for the kids.
Michelle said: “It was a wee Christmas treat. The children were ecstatic, they loved it.
“We let a few of the smaller kids sit on Alfie – he’s the grey one. One of the wee boys, he didn’t want to come off, he was so happy. I think he wanted to take him home with him! It was lovely to see.”
Looking at the pictures by photographer John Keachie, it seems that the children had great fun with their unusual guests.
