ARDROSSAN town centre may see a return of Post Office services in the near future.

Bosses confirmed that they had an ‘interested party’, which may mean that the Glasgow Street Post Office could return to its former glory.

Currently, there is only a convenience store where the Post Office once was and the ATM which was situated outside the shop has been removed.

No Post Office provisions have been in place since early 2017 when an alleged robbery was said to have taken place at the PO.

A Post Office spokesperson said: “We sincerely apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the continued temporary closure of Ardrossan Post Office. We understand and appreciate how much communities rely on our services and would like to reassure customers that we are working hard to restore services to the community as quickly as possible.

“The vacancy has been advertised and we have an interested party who is progressing through our application process. Unfortunately we are unable to provide any further information until our process has been completed.”
