A KIND-hearted couple from Stevenston took to the streets of the Three Towns last week to make sure elderly and disabled locals were well fed.

Tony and Mel Fuggle run Annie Drummy’s Community Cafe in the town and after staff member Charlyne McBlain came up with the idea, they thought they would try and help out anyone they could by delivering them soup and a sandwich.

So they took to social media and asked for customers to nominated family members, neighbours or friends for them to deliver to.

Over the course of Friday and Saturday, they delivered to 52 people and even received a donation of sandwiches to help.

Tony said: “A big thank you to the support of our community that shared our post and nominated the people who got their soup and a sandwich.”

The selfless couple and staff braved the cold and snow to travel across the Three Towns and Kilwinning, helping as many people as they could.
