BOTH the Coastguard and Lifeboat volunteers rushed to Ardrossan South Beach yesterday afternoon after reports of a person in the water.
Around 5pm, both Ardrossan Coastguard and Troon Lifeboat were tasked to the beach after they were called to help the person.
Arriving at the scene, both the Coastguard and the Lifeboat teams were advised the person involved was out of the water and had been taken to their home, which was located nearby.
The Coastguard team has thereafter attended at the address alongside Police and paramedics and confirmed the person was safe and well. The person was then left in the care of police and ambulance services.
Both teams were quickly called out again to reports of a man stuck in mud in Irvine. This was treated as a false alarm with good intent as the man was fishing and had all of the necessary safety equipment required.
