ALMOST 51 years to the day since Saltcoats boy Bobby Lennox and his Celtic teammates triumphed in Lisbon, the trophy they won that day made a guest appearance in North Ayrshire.
The European Cup and Celtic’s legendary player were in attendance at the North Ayrshire Heritage Centre in on Saturday, May 26, and locals flocked in their droves to get a glimpse of Bobby and the Big Cup.
The event coincided with the ongoing junior football exhibition at the centre which features each of North Ayrshire’s junior clubs, including Ardeer Juniors where Bobby started his illustrious and trophy laden career.
