Caricatures of children and adults were created by an artist during a visit to an Ardrossan care home this week.

Brian Morrison, a caricaturist and silhouette artist from Saltcoats, visited Arran View Care Home and captured the likenesses of staff, residents and visitors to the facility.

Pupils from the art department at St Matthew’s Academy also attended and had their portraits drawn by Brian. They also learned some techniques from the artist.

Lesley Colville, activity coordinator at Arran View Care Home, said: “It was fantastic, we had a great afternoon.

“Some of the art class from St Matthew’s were there. They were up to see the paintings and he did some of them too.

“He drew some of the residents and staff and even some of the grandkids who were visiting.

“He done about 30 or 40 drawings. Everybody he drew, he let them just keep the pictures. Some of them were really good.

“Everybody loved it. It was a wee fun afternoon.”
