ARDROSSAN’S Whitlees Gala takes place this weekend and this year’s event marks a special anniversary.
The 2018 event will celebrate 30 years of the gala. And the organisers have suggested, as previously reported in the Herald, that the Royal Party will be joined by queens and courtiers from years past.
The gala takes place on Sunday, June 24 at the Whitlees Community Centre and includes a whole array of attractions.
Events kick off at 12.30pm with the official gala opening by Ian Sutherland of Clyde Kilts.
The events for the rest of the day are as follows:
12.35pm The crowning of Gala Queen and King, Stanley Primary’s Megan Hyslop and Leon Munro
12.45pm Unveiling of a bench in memory of Mattie Campbell
1.15pm Bonny Baby competition
1.30pm Dance show
1.45pm Glamorous Granny competition, followed by music
2pm Best Stall
2.15pm Dance show
2.30pm Raffle
3pm Hungry Men competition
3.30pm Kids dance
