Harbour Inn flats come under council order

THE council have finally moved to close down the 'intolerable' flats above the old Nicol"s Bar in Ardrossan"s Harbour Street, possibly hastening the redevelopment of one of the few remaining eyesores in and around the town centre.

'It"s up to the owners what happens now, but they are finished as letting flats,' an NAC insider told the Herald this week.

We told a while back how the downstairs part of the building - which stands forlornly next to the new ASDA supermarket and a few hundred yards away from other downtown developments - had finally been put on the market by its owners.
