Provost taken ill

PROVOST Robert Rae is recovering in hospital after suffering from a suspected stroke.

The 71-year-old had to be rushed to Inverclyde Hospital last Thursday after collapsing at home.

However, the civic head at North Ayrshire Council, is thought to be doing well.

Chief Executive for NAC Elma Murray told the Herald: "We wish him a swift recovery."
