INFLUX OF CALLS TO POLICE OVER COWS

A HERD of lost cows shocked Ardrossan residents when they were spotted hot-hoofing it through the town's residential streets on Tuesday afternoon.

One resident of St Margaret's Road looked out her window to find the cattle peering over her garden fence.

She said: "I have no idea how they got there. They must have crossed some main roads and even crossed a burn on the way - the nearest farm is a good bit away. They were just wandering through the streets. I don't know how they all ended up here, maybe one went and the others just followed."
