TOMMY IS 100 YEARS YOUNG!

TOMMY Barnett celebrated his 100th birthday with family, a specially made cake and a Chinese meal from a restaurant he used to visit regularly.

The Saltcoats man used to visit the same Chinese restaurant on Green Street, above the Kandy Bar, every day at 1pm his nephew Tommy Saunders told the Herald.

He added: "You could set your watch to it. He was friendly with everyone there and he used to help the kids with their homework and later he even attended their weddings. Tommy's wife past away at a young age and enjoyed the company as well as the food.
