THE streets of Saltcoats were patrolled by police officers, council staff and community members last week to mark the launch of a campaign to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Adams Avenue has primarily been targeted by the Multi Agency Problem Solving Group - led by North Ayrshire Council and Strathclyde Police.

A plan of Enforcement, Prevention, Intelligence, Communication, (EPIC) was launched last Wednesday with a walkabout to identify areas where issues such as vandalism, dog fouling, graffiti and poor lighting are problems.
