ART TO BE PROUD OF
PLANS for a new piece of public art in Stevenston to be created from a collabaration between North Ayrshire students and artist Heather Gray were revealed last week.
Youngsters from Auchenharvie Academy and Ardeer, St John's and Glencairn Primaries have been working with the Heather and the Calley Youth Centre to develop ideas for the new artwork which will be located in the central garden area at Stevenston Cross.
The ideas for the collaboration went on display in an exhibition attended by pupils and parents at the Ardeer Community Centre last Friday. MSP Margaret Burgess also viewed the display and said: "I was immensely impressed by the work of the local schools and youth centre. They clearly put a great deal of time and effort into developing their ideas for the public art work. It is encouraging to know that so many children have taken part in this exciting project and I very much look forward to seeing the final design."
