Former Scout Hall is destroyed

The former Stevenston Scout Hut was totally destroyed on Saturday by a blaze locals have branded as suspicious.

Fire appliances from Ardrossan and Kilwinning rushed to reports of a fire in the large wooden building between Ailsa Drive and Boglemart Street just before 11pm on Saturday and ended up remaining there all night to render it safe.

The hall was the base for a chlidren's nursery after the Scouts moved out but it hadn't been used by the public for some years.
