BRAKES ARE PUT ON £4M RACING CIRCUIT
PLANS to create a £4million drag-racing and motocross circuit in Stevenston have hit the skids after developers put the red light on the project.
Irvine Bay Events Ltd submitted a planning application with North Ayrshire Council in November last year to create a motocross race track with a quarter-mile drag strip, driver test area, ferris wheel and grandstands on a 28 hectare site west of Lundholm Road at the former ICI site.
Although the company withdrew their planning application in June as a result of objections regarding old 'exclusion zones' Jim Crossan, from Irvine Bay Events Ltd said they plan to redraft and resubmit their plans.
