TALENTED young petrol-heads from the Three Towns were in pole position at the prestigious Youthbike contest as they scooped a trio of prizes.

The team from Three Town's Motor Project made a bike created out of old bike parts but designed it to resemble a plane. The named their entry 'Flying Gavin' after Gavin Dunlop, a member of staff who passed away during the build of the bike.

The Ardrossan-based project, run by North Ayrshire Council, sent its Custom Bike Group to Lincoln in England to take part in the Youthbike competition last month.
