BIG-HEARTED THREE TOWNS TEEN SHOWS THAT HE'S DIFFERENT
A THOUGHTFUL teenager from Stevenston has organised a football match to score some funds for a national heart charity.
Owen McNamara, 19, wanted to organised the game to raise the positive profile of young people in the town and donate funds to the British Heart Foundation.
The former Auchenharvie Academy pupil said: "I'm doing the match because every time I read the newspapers or watch the news there is usually at least one story of a teenager or young person getting charged for something crime related, whether its assault, drugs, drunk and disorderly or something else.
"There is a lot of attention on the bad things that young people do and very little or no focus on the good things we do. So I came up with the idea of this charity day, firstly to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, and secondly to show that young people do have great ideas, and can actually do something good and thoughtful."
