YORKHILL Hospital is better off to the tune of £400 this week thanks to a superb fundraising effort by Stevenston cyclist Sophie Wallace.

The eleven-year-old brought in the superb sum by cycling from the Hayocks to West Kilbride, over the back road to Dalry, on to Kilwinning and then back home to Stevenston - and all on the hottest day of the year back in May.

She was accompanied by her dad, Andrew Wallace.
