No doubt parents are aware that as this week’s edition of the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald gets published, the school holidays this Easter are well underway. While on their holidays some of the 3TFM volunteers of school age have been spending more of their holiday time at the 3TFM studios getting more involved with the running of the station, producing features for the stations output, learning new technical skills and least of all but very importantly help with making tea and coffee for us more senior volunteers. (Tam, yer joabs in jeapardy.) I have to say during these school holidays it’s been a pleasure to have had more involvement with the 3TFM volunteers who are still at school, working with them on their features and programme ideas and helping them learn and expand their basic technical radio knowledge skills to help them become more proficient volunteer presenters.

Of course 3TFM caters not just for young volunteers. We value and respect all to do with the 3TFM community and encourage and like our volunteers to be of all ages, sexes, races, origins, ably different. The list goes on.

3TFM is not just about playing music. We like to broadcast speech content programmes and also intend to add to our new forthcoming schedule, news features, debate, historical and sport programmes all of local content and produced by local people of the Three Towns community.

The forthcoming Commonweath Games are looming and 3TFM are preparing interviews both recorded and live with various local sportsmen, women and children who have contributed or are about to contribute to the event.

More to be revealed and heard very soon.

So as always whether it be at home, in the car, your mobile phone or PC, crank up the volume and keep listening to 103.1FM Community Radio for Health.

It’s Ayrshire’s first and original as well as the UK’s leading health-promoting radio station situated right here in the Three Towns for even more great music, interesting guests, competitions and health info.

Pass the word to your family and friends to do the same. If you would like more information regarding volunteer recruitment or you’d like us to make aware of your community group’s purpose and the work you do in the towns of Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston then contact Louis Ferguson the Station Manager on 01294 604612 or by emailing louisb@3tfm.org.
