AN ARDROSSAN woman has appeared in court after admitting she set fire to a mattress in her own home.
Margaret Morgan, 51, of Armour Place, caused extensive smoke damage to her property on February 21 of this year after she culpably and recklessly set fire to bed sheets and a mattress which destroyed both of these and caused extensive damage throughout her home.
Holliman, lawyer for the accused, noted that reports would be likely to be called for but Sheriff McDonald asked for details of properties within the vicinity, which was found to be a 12-to-a-block mid-terrace.
The case was adjourned in order to obtain a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Psychiatric report.
The case will be back at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at the end of the month
