ARDROSSAN Academy pupils were looking very smart on the first day of term on Monday.
The school has adopted a new dress code which includes the wearing of the school’s blazer.
In April, the school announced that come the new term all pupils would wear the school’s tie with a white or black shirt and a blazer saying ‘it would give pupils an identity of their own’.
Head Teacher Lisa Chambers commented: “The black blazers, trimmed with royal blue and embroidered with the school badge, have proven extremely popular with students and make a real statement about the sense of pride they have in their school.
“Following consultation with pupils and parents last session, orders were taken for the garments. The response was overwhelmingly positive and students were eager to have their own blazer, even prior to the summer break!
“Students seem genuinely delighted – ‘thinking they look smart’. It is fantastic to see young people walking around with their heads held high, brimming with confidence.”
