ARDROSSAN Indoor Bowling Club has been given a Big Lottery boost of £9,000 to make the 40-year-old building a safer and more attractive space.
The money will allow them to rewire the building, replace the wooden ceiling and windows and buy new tables and chairs.
A spokesperson for the club said: “The grant is fantastic news for the club. It will take us to a new level and offer a brighter appearance and hopefully increase our bookings for events like weddings and just generally encourage people to come and see what we have to offer.” Dykesmains Primary in Saltcoats is also benefitting from the Awards for All Scheme with a £9,000 grant to build a pavilion in the school grounds to be used as an outdoor classroom, and as a shelter during breaks and lunchtimes.
A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Council said: “Having this structure will allow pupils to explore their ’backyard’ and bring what they discover into their outdoor classroom.”
