A MAN has this week admitted to threatening to burn down the house of a 14-year-old girl he had carried out tattoo work on.

Michael Ferrier, 24, of Lundholm Place, Stevenston, pled guilty to the offence by letter.

The offence, which was carried out in June of 2013, happened through text messages sent from Ferrier.

The court heard how the police had the phone of the teenager on another matter and these messages were found.

The nature of them concerned the officers and they asked the female if she knew him and she said that she did because he had carried out tattoo work on her.

She said that the contact was unwanted and that she had replied because she felt threatened.

The Procurator Fiscal read out a sample of the messages to the Sheriff which said: “I’ll set your house on fire.”, “I’ll f*****g leather your brother,” and “Next time you’re cheeky, I’ll break your f****g legs.” Sentence was deferred for Ferrier’s personal appearance until next month.
