TWO Women’s teams from Ardrossan Bowling Club were the toast of Ayrshire last week after picking up the top gongs in the Ayrshire Finals.
The Ayrshire Finals were held at Kilmarnock’s Townholm Bowling Club on Wednesday morning after the greens were unplayable on Tuesday due to the heavy rain.
In the pairs competition, Heather Crawford and Janice Dougal won a tight match against Galston by the narrowest of margins.
The one shot victory was enough to give the ladies the title.
Not to be outdone by their clubmates, Helen Bates, Cathy McMenemy, Margaret Darroch and Liz Gage were victorious in the fours contest and there win over Kincaidston and Belmont Bowling Club was settled in the very last end with a measure for the shot.
