POLICE Scotland officers at Saltcoats Police Office are continuing enquiries and seeking the assistance of the media and the public in an effort to trace a missing man from Ardrossan.

John Watt, 53, of Glasgow Street has been missing for several weeks and concern is mounting for his wellbeing.

John is described as white, around five feet 10 inches tall, and of slim build.

He has short grey hair with facial stubble.

John, who lives alone, was reported missing on August 14, and following extensive enquiries, the last reported sighting of him was by a friend in a shop in Ardrossan around a week ago.

He mentioned to his friend he was going to stay with family in Irvine but did not appear.

John regularly frequents the Ardrossan area, and may have family that reside in the Greenock area.

Chief Inspector Martyn Hopkins is appealing for the local community for assistance in locating John, and is asking anyone with information to contact Saltcoats Police Office on 101.
