IT’S often said in politics ‘you can’t have your cake and eat it’.
But you can at the Kandy Bar in the run up to the Independence Referendum.
Stephen McAllister and his team at the popular bakery have been letting customers choose between Yes, No, and Don’t know cup cakes to gauge the baking temperature of opinion and see what the appetite is for independence or keeping the union.
Stephen said: “It’s just a bit of fun and we are in no way trying to express any political view.
“I’m personally still in the don’t knows.” This week’s score won’t be revealed until Friday, but Stephen did reveal that the Yes cakes are slightly more popular than the No with the don’t know the least favoured.
