A SALTCOATS mother will be sentenced next month after admitting leaving three children alone in a house within reach of drugs.
The 24-year-old woman appeared last week at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court when her defence agent confirmed she would be pleading guilty to both charges against her.
On August 8 of this year, she left the three kids, aged nine, seven and nine months, in her Saltcoats home by wilfully abandoning them and exposing the children in a manner likely to cause them unnecessary suffering or injury to health.
The children were left in the dwelling house and exposed to a quantity of herbal cannabis which was in open view and within reach of the kids.
On the same date, she was also charged with having possession of a Class B drug, namely cannabis.
Sheriff Watson immediately called for background reports in this case and she will be sentenced next month after dealing with the social work department.
