AN ARDROSSAN man has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after a domestic row with his then partner.
Robert Watson, 26, of the town’s Stanley Road, was involved in the domestic incident with his now ex-partner in July of this year in Kilmarnock.
Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard last week that tempers were frayed and his ex-partner has been accusing him of staying with another female.
Mrs Dawson, defending, said the charge was Watson’s fourth domestic charge and made the argument to put her client forward for the Caledonian Programme, which aims to change the behaviour of men who abuse their partners.
Sheriff MacDonald said: “I’m told you’ve separated.
"If you wanted to remain with your partner it would have been the Caledonian Programme but I am just persuaded to deal with it today..” Watson was ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work as a direct alternative to a custodial sentence.
