SALTCOATS singer songwriter James Hopkins continues to move swiftly up the musical success ladder.
Following two recent gigs at Ardrossan Civic Centre and Garfield’s Wine Bar where he played to exuberant full houses, 17-year-old James was asked to provide the entertainment for 700 star guests from the combined worlds of football, pop and Hollywood at Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel recently.
The occasion was a charity fundraiser organised by Celtic legend, Paul McStay and QPR and England star Rio Ferdinand in aid of UNICEF and War Child.
James’ set quickly had the delighted audience joining in enthusiastically with footballers Stiliyan Petrov, Joey Barton, Lubo Moravcik and household names such as Jack Whitehall, Martin Compston, Ralf Little and James McAvoy rubbing shoulders His performance over, James then had the enviable task of socialising with the many VIPs in the green room.
He thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and looks forward with growing confidence to his next show at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Saturday, November 2.
