A KITCHEN fire in Ardrossan was swiftly dealt with by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service last Wednesday.
The incident, at Kilmeny Court, was attended by a crew from Ardrossan Community Fire Station.
Station manager Derek Davidson said: “It would appear that this fire was caused by the resident of the property becoming distracted and leaving the grill pan unattended allowing it to catch fire.
“I can only reiterate how important it is to maintain complete concentration while cooking as fire will start when your concentration stops” “The fire was extinguished by two crew members wearing breathing apparatus and utilising a dry powder extinguisher.
“One adult male suffered from slight smoke inhalation as a result but, after being assessed by paramedics, a decision was made that he did not require to attend hospital.”
