St Peter’s Childrens Centre in Ardrossan has been awarded the Game on Scotland Plaque for its hard work in promoting sport and a healthy lifestyle.
Game on Scotland is the official education programme of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and its legacy – aiming to provide inspiration and learning opportunities.
The children were introduced to different sports – soft ball, rugby, hockey, bowling and tennis – and undertook a programme of healthy eating and exercise all leading up to a Commonwealth Sports Day.
The centre is continuing an exercise and healthy lifestyle programme and is now extending it to the toddler group.
