CURLERS from Canada converged on Harvies ice rink in Stevenston last Tuesday to compete against local teams.
A total of 24 players from the Ottawa Valley Curling Club were piped on to the ice after they arrived in North Ayrshire as part of a nationwide tour.
The trip is part of a long-standing tradition, stretching back to 1980, which sees local clubs take turns to host their curling counterparts from across the Atlantic every four years.
During their visit to North Ayrshire, Ottawa Valley curlers played six teams, consisting of members of several clubs which regularly use the Auchenharvie Leisure Centre.
The players were then treated to a civic lunch, hosted by Provost Joan Sturgeon.
Members of Ardrossan, Auchenames, Penguins, Largs, Kilwinning and Irvine Curling Clubs were involved in the action on the day.
