After 18 years with local company James Frew, Malcolm Cheadle is swapping one set of overalls for another as he looks forward to starting his retirement decorating his new home.
Malcolm started his career with the Stevenston headquartered company as a plumber back in 1997 and over the years has worked in all of the company’s different divisions, as well as managing sites.
During his career Malcolm, who was also a gas engineer and supervisor, was a great mentor to many of the company apprentices.
In celebration of his commitment to the company, Managing Director, Roddy Frew presented Malcolm with an overnight stay at Seamill Hydro including a special entertainment night with crooner Michael Buble.
Malcolm said: “I’ve not really had time to think about retiring as I’ve just moved from Prestwick to Girvan and have been busy decorating.
I’m hoping to get out more on my fishing boat but I also have a holiday home in Turkey so I’m planning to divide my time between the two locations.
“I’ve had a great time working with James Frew, with lots of laughs along the way, but I’m looking forward to a new beginning.” Roddy added: “Malcolm played a key role in our continued success.
We wish him every success in his new home and a happy retirement.”
