A TEENAGER has been locked up after he admitted a housebreaking spree in North Ayrshire last summer.

Jason Abbott, 17, pled guilty to four charges over a three-week period in July of 2014.  Abbott, who is a prisoner at Polmont Young Offenders Institution, admitted breaking into a house in Greenacres, Ardrossan where he stole a pillow, jewellery and an iPad.  A week later, on July 18, Abbott broke into a house in Sunningdale Square in Kilwinning where he stole containers containing money and a ring.  On July 23, he broke into a house in Clytus Court, Saltcoats, where he stole containers with money in them, a case of beer, electronic items, jewellery and a car key.  Just three days later he committed another theft in Munnoch Crescent where he stole jewellery, money and some personal correspondence.  Abbott also admitted the charge of breaching his curfew where he was supposed to stay home between 7pm and 7am every day and each charge was also whilst he was on bail for another offence.  He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, backdated to October 31, three of which were imposed for the breaches of bail.
