A PENSIONER has admitted causing the death of an 80-year-old woman in Stevenston by careless driving.
Dulcie Richards was killed on April 3, 2014 after being struck by a car driven by 79-year-old Alfred Brand.
Brand admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to see the woman at a crossing in Boglemart Street resulting in his car colliding with her.
Brand, of Clark Drive, Irvine appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, July 20 and pled guilty.
His case has been adjourned until August.
