PROFITS from Ardrossan Civic Centre could now go to boost the town’s Common Good Fund.
The move follows a review of the Funds by North Ayrshire Council. and means clubs and good causes in the town could benefit from the cash. The Civic Centre, in Glasgow Street, is a busy hub in Ardrossan with many parties, weddings and other events taking place throughout the year. It is unclear at the moment how much, if any, of the money will be directly pumped back in to the community but the Civic Centre would be a welcome addition to the fund. A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “The council carried out a review of all council owned land and property to confirm which should be within the Common Good. “This review was completed in March 2015 and the Civic Centre in Ardrossan was identified as Common Good. The financial implications of this are still being considered by the council.“
