A house in Parkhead is spooking out East End residents thanks to its Halloween makeover.

The owner of the property on Barrowfield Road, Jolene Biggins has gone all out to celebrate the spooky season, and it’s not gone unnoticed.

From witches to ghouls and gravestones, the property has become a hit among Celtic supporters travelling through the area to the stadium – and they are are stopping in their droves to take in the scary scene.

Mum-of-two Jolene, who has sons Jack, 15, and Karsoin, nine, said: “I always see the football fans stopping and taking photos of the house.

“I have been decorating the house like this since I moved in nine years ago, and I did my old house too.

“But this house is better because I have a garden. Before I just did the inside of the house.”

Jolene started putting her decorations up last week and admits that the number of decorations she has is “ridiculous”.

She buys her Halloween décor online and from a range of shops in the city, and each year she begins looking for her creepy creations as soon as the shops start selling them.

She said: “A few of my neighbours decorate but they don’t go as big as me. I am not sure if there is another house like this in the city but I think it is becoming more popular.

“I started buying my stuff in August this year just as all the shops started getting it in. I am usually the first to buy it.

“Anything I have not got, I have to buy it there and then.”

Jolene, who has not decided on her costume for this year but admits it will be scary, plans to have a party to celebrate Hallowe’en with her friends and family on Saturday, October 29.

She said: “I think what I do adds a wee bit of cheer to the area, all the neighbours love it.

“The kids love it especially because a few of the things light up.

“I love Hallowe’en because I get to dress up, celebrate with my pals and have a laugh really.”

She added: “I would love to see everyone do this with their house.
