A Celtic fan was left open-mouthed after he bumped into Noel Gallagher at a gig and posed with him for a selfie video - only for the former Oasis frontman to break into a rendition of ‘Hail, Hail’.

The Twitter user, Jonathan Murtagh, from Coatbridge, was at the U2 concert in Twickenham Stadium this week where Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds were the support act.

Noel was mingling with fans in the audience when Jonathan grabbed his phone and shotued at the singer: “Yo, Glasgow Celtic.”

Looking into the camera, Noel sings, “Hail, hail, the Celts are here,” leaving Jonathan shocked as he puts his hand over his mouth.

Posted just 24 hours ago, the clip has already gathered over 7,000 reactions as Celtic fans joined Jonathan in his surprise.

Noel is a known Manchester United fan, but has also been spotted at “Paradise” several times in the past.

Noel, 50, also posed for a selfie holding three fingers up as a reference to the Bhoys’ historical move which saw the team win the Scottish Cup final, securing the club’s fourth Treble and completing a remarkable 47-match unbeaten domestic season in May.

Glasgow Times:

The video comes just weeks after Noel invoked the fury of his brother and former bandmate Liam for failing to show up to the One Love concert on June 4 in aid of those affected by the Manchester Arena bombing which claimed 22 lives after an Ariana Grande concert.

Liam, 44, dished out some strong words by telling his brother: “Noels out of the f*****g country weren’t we all love get on a f*****g plane and play your tunes for the kids you sad f**k.”

Grande’s manager, however, hit back at criticism over Noel’s no-show by stating that the singer was never expected to attend.
