A ROAD RAGE driver attacked two boys heading home from school after one walked into the road without looking.

Thomas Fallan was driving along Wellshot Road, Tollcross, when one of the boys stepped out in front of his car.

Fallan beeped his horn aggressively and shouted to the two 15-year-olds: "Youse think you are f**king widos. Youse wait there."

One of the boys ran off while Fallan grabbed the second boy by the neck.

The first boy returned and tried to help his friend before they both ran off and Fallan returned to his car.

Fallan then followed the teenagers into the carpark of Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

He brandished a hammer at them and shouted: "S***ebags".

During the incident, around 4pm on November 24, 2016, the teenagers took down Fallan's registration number and reported him to the police.

After he was arrested, Fallan told police at London Road police office: "I just wanted to tell them they shouldn't have done what they done.

"They could have died under the wheels of my motor."

Fallan's defence lawyer told the court he is in a long term relationship of some 30 years having been widowed when he was 27 and left to bring up three children.

The lawyer said: "He has not diminished his responsibility in this.

"These boys walked in front of the car and an argument ensued.

"He felt intimidated by two teenage boys who were swearing vociferously. He then totally lost it."

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Fallan, of Easterhill Place Tollcross, had a previous conviction for assault and breach of the peace from 1997 and another conviction 17 years before that.

As well as his own three children, Fallan is step-father to his partner's three children, who he helped to raise.

Sentencing, Sheriff Kelly acknowledged that Fallan had been "provoked" during the incident.

The sheriff said: "This must have been terrifying for the boys but I take into account the effect it had on you and that you were provoked."

Fallon was fined a total of £600.
