THE whole of Scotland is braced for heavy rain and wind speeds of up to 80mph as yet another bad weather front prepares to batter the nation.
The Met Office has said that a spell of very strong winds on Friday is likely to cause disruption across the entire northern half of the UK.
A yellow “be aware” warning has been put into place from 3am until 11.59pm.
Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible.

Some roads and bridges across Glasgow and the rest of Scotland may also close.
The national weather service added: “There’s a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs.
“There’s also a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from flying debris, as well as large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
#Wet and very #windy weather is starting to arrive from the west all courtesy of a deep area of low pressure. This could bring some disruption on Friday #weatheraware. However, the impacts are not currently considered significant enough to warrant naming the storm pic.twitter.com/0PLCGTecYp

“Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services.”
Network Rail has urged commuters to “travel safely,” adding: “With heavy rain forecast all across the country, we’re out checking drains and culverts - pipes and tunnels carrying streams under railway - at flood-prone locations.
