A Tea and Blether coffee morning held in West Kilbride has raised £400 for Alzheimer Scotland.
The fundraiser was organised and hosted by Councillor Joy Brahim, with all proceeds going to the charity.
Cllr Brahim said: “Dementia touches many lives at some point or another and is a cause close to my heart, so I wanted to raise awareness as well as funds to help support those affected.
“I would like to thank Amy McLaughlan of Alzheimer Scotland and Kirsty Lee of KA Leisure for coming along to provide information about dementia support and activities available to people in North Ayrshire. I am also very grateful to everyone who attended and to the fantastic volunteers who helped make this community event a success.”
A £400 cheque will be presented to Alzheimer Scotland over the next few weeks; however, the online fundraiser is ongoing.
