A BIRTHDAY TREAT FOR BRAVE ALFIE

YOUNG Ayrshire boy Alfie Sharpe will have the rare opportunity to celebrate his birthday at a castle this Sunday thanks to a kind-hearted lord - and everyone is invited.

The four year-old is battling the aggressive cancer neuroblastoma and after reading about his plight in the newspapers Patrick Boyle, 10th Earl of Glasgow, invited Alfie to hold his birthday bash at Kelburn Country Park, near West Kilbride.

There is nothing the NHS can do for Alfie if he doesn't respond to the latest course of chemotherapy and North Ayrshire communities have been rallying behind his parents Cheree (28) and Steven (32) who are trying to raise £80,000 to send him to Germany for pioneering treatment.
