This stunning image of the moon rising over West Kilbride was posted by Peter Watkins.
It looks like a full moon but in fact that won't occur until tomorrow night.
The phases of the moon have been linked to human behaviour patterns including sleep and fertility cycles since ancient times.
And of course the term 'lunacy' is derived from the Latin word for the moon 'luna'.
We hope your sleep hasn't been disturbed by Peter's image.
