A WEST Kilbride community project is in danger of folding due to lack of support.

Kirktonhall Creative Media Group’s recent AGM attracted only two members meaning it couldn’t go ahead.

As a registered charity, the AGM needs at least 40 members to be a valid meeting.

The group has 131 members.

Secretary of KCMG, Mary Cahill, said: “The presence and participation of our members at the AGM is vital.

“We need at least 40 members to achieve quorum or we will have to windup KCMG, and all of the hard work that has gone into the project over the past four years will be for nothing.

“Luckily, we are allowed one more opportunity to hold a successful AGM before we are forced to wind up the project and the group.” The rescheduled AGM will be at West Kilbride Community Centre on Monday, July 6 at 7.30pm.

Mary added: “Just by attending, members will be helping to save the group because, no matter how much work we do, if we do not have at least 40 members at the AGM the group will have to wind up. Recent events such as Kirktonhall going on the open market and the closing of our Ritchie Street premises, may have led members to believe that the project is winding down, this is not the case.

“We are still focused on our original goals and we need our members more than ever.

“Once we have received news of our current funding applications, we will be able to assess whether or not the project can move forward with Kirktonhall as the venue or if we need to look at alternatives. We have been working on some exciting ideas for KCMG, which we will share with our members at the AGM.”  Anyone interested in becoming a member of KCMG or the board of trustees should contact Mary Cahill 07830 530 613 or email mary@kcmg.org.uk.
